went boating the other day and noticed the bottom screw were the oil went is loose and sea water was getting in t&trim is not working anyway so making a start first thing flushing any sea water that got in .

mantis...procedure for filling is, tilt engine all the way up or as far as it will go. Add fluid to reservoir even with the fill plug hole. This is the round canister you described with a big screw in it. Cycle up and down and leave engine in the up position. Check reservoir level and repeat process. Cycling the tilt up and down bleeds the air from the system. If the reservoir was fairly empty, this may take a couple fillings to get the reservoir full. Remember, to get a true reservoir level, the engine must be tilted all the way up. Good luck.
