I have the opportunity to take this boat, sitting, upside down, for 20 or so years, in someone's back yard. was in the water for two seasons, 20 years ago. Should I? Is it a good boat?

Needs a motor, what is a good power set-up?

Also, what should I look for when taking a look at the hull?

Thanks!

MAX

Need more info.

Is it aluminum? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. Aluminum boats are easy to restore.

Well, post some pics...lets have a look at that beauty...

Stored upside-down...it might be just fine. Fiberglass restores very very well with not a lot of effort...as long as the wood underneath is OK...

Crestliners are neat...their design is sort of old fashioned IMHO...even the new Crestline Boats look like designs from many years back...and I happen to like their looks :)

For example...look at this 2005 model...it's straight lines look "dated" to me...but cool none-the-less. Of course; being owned by Brunswick...you always see Mercury engines on thier promo shots...

Good luck with your restoration...looking forward to your pictures...

Chuck

Thanks again, question: are parts easy to find? What do I need to look at in terms of the boat being sea worthy? what is the largest outboard I can go with?

Crestliners have rounded bottoms and give a fairly soft ride, some wobble at rest but hey, its a vee ...

my 18 footer is 40 years old and its looks are timeless

40 horse would run it efficiently, I dont see why 75 Hp would be a problem *crestliners have thick keels and thin gunnels, so they is HEAVY, but strong*
