I recently bought a fisher jon boat with a trailer and a 15hp 84' johnson. Upon inspecting the title it says its for a 1972 mitchell 14' alum? the vessel registration #' are the same on the title as on the boat and it is obvious that it has had the same # over the last 3 sets (many years) of decals. I called a fisher and tracker and neither could give me any solid info. I called a friend in the business who told me there would be no problem with it as some of fishers boats were built by other manufacturers for fisher? I took a chance as i looked all over the transom and couldn't find a # anywhere. There is a manufacturers sticker/plate? on the starboard inside wall next to the transom that at one time had a ident # but at this point can no longer be read. I have looked at it in all deferent light and even shaded over it with pencil and paper and nothing can be made out. All that I have been able to gather from it is that it is a fisher swift 14. I would like to find out all I can about it if anyone knows? I have been trying to find a yamaha 15 for it and in the search I found a nice yamaha 25. I would like to know if this boat can hold a motor of this size?
