My dad bought his in 1955 or 56. He put a hopped up Mercury Mark 20 on it that made the boat unsafe to handle at speed so he put a removable steering wheel on it. My brother and I used it as a ski boat. We were timed at 41 mph which was pretty fast in the day. The Merc motor was likely around 25 horse after porting, relieving, etc. I've wished many time that I had that boat back. I sold it near Niles, Michigan for $300 including trailer back in 1963 or so.
