I have a 14' Starcraft with a closed front/steering wheel/dashboard etc. It has a wood floor that follows the bottom contour of the boat. I have a bunch of questions.
1) Can I drill out the rivets out that hold the floor or do those go entirely through the hull? I want to replace the existing floor with a flat wood floor.
2) Can I remove the closed front or does it have to be cut out?
3) If I take the front out, and the dash/steering wheel, etc, does that affect the structural stability of the boat?
4) These boats have a 4" or so flat 'side' (not sure what to call it). Can that all be removed?

It looks basically like this...

if you want a flimsy piece of aluminum foil, go ahead with you plans. you will have to drill out a rivet to find out. i serious doubt they go all the way.

td said it.....

1. yes

2. yes, but i wouldnt......(not in a tinny)

3. yes.....lots

4. dont know what flat side your are talking about....

imho.....you want an open bow boat.....you have a tinny.....(tinnys are great....strong....repairs are a snap....)

if you want a different boat ....get a different boat.......if it was a glass boat....that would be different......but its not.....(that is a good thing)

just some food for thought
