140 4 cylinder Backfire at high speed

I have a 1984? sea ray with a 4 cylinder 140 in it. Was out today, and over the course of an hour or so, it backfired pretty loud 3 times while going about 25-30 mph. This has never happened to me since ive owned it (1.5 years). Any ideas whats causing this?

Check your timing, and do a compression test, could be a head gasket problem. Good luck

Ayuh,.... Change the Fuel Filters,... She's goin' Lean....
