140 i/o gm-NEED A CARB, HELP!

Hey folks,
I've been all over this site, and others, and need some help. 1985 Sylvan, 17 foot, 140 merc i/o 3.0 GM. Carter carb with a lot of problems: accell pump, sticking floats, etc.
I need a carb, any ideas where to get one? I have been told repeatedly that this carb is not being made any longer, and at this point don't care if the electric choke works at all(too much rain making me desperate!),,,
What will work other than a $250 jegs 1/2 holley? Any ideas on a reman carb?

try laniermarine.net it is a salvage yard for boats
they mite have used carbs
