My 140 had a major failure of a corroded lower steering shaft joint. I cant get the lower mounts off, everything is rusted and seized. I also have a 1989 110 "Pro series" that's in great shape as far as no corrosion. Can I bolt on my 140 looper powerhead to the 110 case? If so, does the engine cover swap over as well as the lower unit too? Basically I want to use the mid section of the 110 since the 140 is really almost impossible to get apart.

Thanks!!

The looper engine is a later model. Larger displacement and different tooling, etc. The 110 is the old (1968-97) crossflow design. Don't think there is much in common between the two engines. You can browse through the factory parts lists on their website: epc.brp.com and compare the parts between the two engines. The critical difference will be the powerhead mounting gasket between the powerhead and the exhaust adapter. If you compare them you'll see the difference.
