I like that dash as well. I was also thinking of leaving my transom wood unpainted like you did also. With all that epoxy on it it is a shame to cover it up, as it really shines.

Re: 14ft Starcraft Falcon Restore

Finally think I got my electric start issue figured out. Ordered a new solenoid off fleebay after figuring out that the PO put an automotive one in it. Hooked it all up tonight, hit the key, and click the starter ingaged just like it should. Need to get a new battery yet, but after that I think Im in bidness.

This weekend Im going to try and get the floor all cut out and coated, but also have to get my travel trailer ready for camping next weekend. Going to be a busy couple days I do believe. :D

Well inbetween working on getting our travel trailer ready for next weekends camping trip I managed to make some progress.

Got the inside painted, since this is isnt one of them fancy models I dont have any of those pretty panels like some of you guys do :(. Floor pieces have been cut (thank goodness I was able to save the old piece from the nose), and got a coat of my top secret industrial grade poly-something paint on the bottoms and sides. Talked about it before but my friend uses it to coat the floors and part way up the walls in mech./boiler rooms on upper levels to prevent flooding of lower levels if there was a water leak. Tried it on a test piece of wood that Ive left outside for weeks now and its working great.

Started laying out my pink foam today. Kinda like doing a jigsaw puzzle. Have found I dont have a ton of room under the floor for the foam, guess I'll just get as much as I can in there and call it good. Wonder if it will ride any higher in the water with all that new foam? :D

Well didnt get much done on the old girl the last week or so. Been camping and then it was so hot I didnt want to leave the air conditioning.

Started back on it today, kinda..... Levitated the boat back up off the trailer, hauled the trailer down to the feed store scale and got it weighed. Next stop was to make my donation at the secretary of state. Shes all legal now. My goal this weekend is to splash it, everything might not be totally finished but its getting wet and lines will be cast.

Re: 14ft Starcraft Falcon Restore

Very nice. my Father in Law got me a Starcraft Falcon for Christmas. I don't know what year, but it came with a 1970 Evinrude 33 Ski Twin.
I think the color is original on the boat. Does white and tan sound right?
I don't know a damn thing about boats, but I think I'm hooked. The motor is a basket case, in three baskets. Looks like I have my work cut out for me, though. The deck is kind of soft.

Welcome to the forum and once you post some pictures :D, the Starcraft Club, you've got lots of help here. Just start your own resto thread and as questions come up post away. Should be a HIN number stamped on the back of the boat, last two digits should be your year.

Thanks Terry, fishing was good, didnt get out as much as I wanted considering being without the boat. But oh well, had a good time. I did see someone cruise through the channel in an old Starcraft, I asked him what year it was as he went by but he didnt stop, just holered he wasnt sure.

Cool, looks like you are getting close to fixing the being without a boat problem! Cool to see boats you recognize while you're out.

SPLASH!!!!!!
:D

Made the maiden voyage today. The motor needs a little fine tuning yet but other than that it was a success, even managed to fish for an hour or so.
