Roughly the USCG uses 150lb 'people' to determine capacity.

So

650 ? 150 = 4 person capacity.

But be aware, its a limit of both people and weight. So the boat would be overloaded in either case:

8ppl @ 75lb each (under weight but too many people)

3ppl @ 250lbs each (over weight even though fewer people then rated capacity

My question now is the HIN ends with 77 which makes it a 1977
Then -4R would that make it model 14r big water

Hi Shawn,
You might try agoogle search on this. I know I havbein the past and found out the info I needed on manufacturer specs and so forth. It might take a little time but it is worth it. Just my 2 cents any way. ;)

Sounds like you got the weight and capacity info you need. Now, from a practical standpoint...

A nice little boat that takes big water really well, but 25 HP is too much for the boat - don't go over 18.
Look carefully at the ribs - they are subject to failure at the ends around midship. New ribs can be sistered to solve the problem.

No cracked ribs already checked those out. Boat is a good deal my uncle has owned it for 20 plus years got boat trailer and 83 7.5 Mercury for 500. I'm a machinist for a areo space co. So a few broken ribs would be a easy fix.

I ran HIN it's definitely a 14R 4 person thanks for the help. Will get this transferred and my boys will be captains of their own boat. And I can have mine back.
