we bought this boat off craigslist for 300 with no title , with fl being a title state we had to apply for the title to the boat , got that done with few problems and since i live in georgia the trailer was a snap to get done .

we already knew the floor was bad so we had planned on tearing it out and this is how it goes

the way the boat was built there is no cap its a bonded hull so we left about 3 inches all the way around the deck so it could be tabbed back in later , and then we removed the fuel tank and foam the fuel tank will not be going back in as we will use external tanks 1 under the console and 1 on the back deck

after we got all the foam out of the boat we took a break from it and worked on the console , we took all the hardware off itand cut out the old wood from the back side and cut 3/4 ply wood and fitted a new piece , after fiber-glassing both sides it was then fiber-glassed in place as the pic will show

next we got back to work on the boat with all the old stuff removed we worked on getting the deck supports back in and this is a pic of the templates of how it goes back in even though they were rotted out before

if you look at this pic you will see old glass that dont reach the decking this is where they had 1x3 on the sides tapered to the deck height that are gone we cut that down to the hull and replaced them as we went forward

next we skipped around and took out the old molded in hatch covers and switched them for water tight one

now we have glassed all the boards top and bottom to go back in for the deck supports and have them installed and glassed in to tie everything together

IMG_0278.jpg

then we took a break and play with the hull we sanded the hull with 180 grit and got the gel coat off and then went back over it with 220 and 400 and then changed the color of the hull , we just did the sides for now and will do the bottom later on

and right now we are making the template's for the deck out of 1/2" ply, the deck that goes in will be 1/2" expanded pvc board after that is done we will get the foam from composite one and then put the deck down ....
