Hey Red you will need longer rivets than those, I use 1" aluminum/ aluminum with a large head, but I don't countersink the heads on them just lay vinyl over.

I figured as much. Where do you get them from? I measured from the end of the rivet to the top and they're 3/4". Again, I think they would work, but...

Fastenall is where I got the ones I used.

Bought the rivets, had a little issue with the hull painting...did not know that a 4 to 1 ratio would work best with rust oleum and acetone. Huge mess was averted, a lot of youtube video and online searching as well as asking a cousin for some wet sanding advice no pictures were taken since I was quite "humbled" let's just say. I wish i would have, now as i think the turn around was quite miraculous. Painted the final coat this evening, pictures tomorrow, hope the paint looks good. This is a learning process, as I have never painted anything other than bedrooms and hallways...metal is a different animal for sure. Good experience though.
