15 hp. gamefisher won't fish

i have a 15hp. gamefisher not sure how old, but it shows age. i somehow got the wrong # sparkplug and it ran terrible. i use the ngk's and somebody said to use a hotter plug. i had a 10 and went to a 7. well she ran fine in a barrel in the back yard, but as soon as i get to the boatramp it won't run. carb is fine i believe and fuel is new. what kind of electric system do the plugs feed? dunno what to do.
