Hey guys my 15 hp johnson is having some issues. My first time to take it on the water it iwas hard to start. It takes 10-15 pulls at WOT and as i was going across the lake i noticed my buddys 15hp rude was twice as fast as me. His being on a 15ft boat and mine on a 1436 duracraft
johnboat with half the weight in it. I figured mine should be almst if
not just as fast but im not close. Also i have been having trouble with my motor idling. If it was firing on one cylinder could that cause this problem? Carb has been kitted fuel pump and all lines replaced as well as plugs

Yes, firing on one cylinder - they have no power.

Agree, unless your prop is missing two blades:) These motors run real smooth on one cylinder but it shows up as a lack of power/speed. Do a spark test. Best of luck. Rick.
