i`am new to boating
what are the conrols on the motor. one pulls out, and one has a knob.
what is the fuel mix. i had it running smoke a little and yes it was blue
the compsion is 120 in each cyl. its a pull start

Welcome to iboats!

I have an '88 Johnson 9.9, about 98% of the parts between the 9.9 and the 15 are identical.

The control all the way to the left that slides in and out is the choke. The knob just to its right is the slow speed adjustment knob. Use TCW3 rated oil at 50:1.

These motors are virtually bulletproof if you take proper care of them. Is this motor new to you and do you know its service history?
