15 hp mercury

I curently have a 9 pitch prop i beleive an dam thinkin about changing props. the boat is pretty heavy and dont know if i should get a bigger prop or go smaller. i am just lookin to get a little more push out of the motor. any help would be greatly appreciated

Props are like gears. As you go down in size of prop (pitch) you are decreasing the load on the engine. You get better acceleration and the engine will spin faster at Wide Open Throttle. If you have a 9" and want more 'push', try a 7".<br /><br />Chris...........

Thanks I have a chance to buy an 8 pitch ill have to try it out
