150 Black Max Oil Pump?

Black Max 150HP (Mid 1990's):The alarm comes on from time to time and the low oil/overheat light comes on. It can't be the overheat b/c it will buzz right after the first start in the morning. Oil reservoirs are full and the engine puts out dark smoke which leads me to believe the oil pump is working. What would be the most common cause?

Is it beep beep beep or constant beeeeeeeep?<br />The pulsed beep means something not right w/ oil injection, constant means overheat (but your engine's cold) or the sensor for overheat is bad. Disconnect overheat sensor & check. If that's not it a wiring short in the harness or the oil alarm module has gone bad. Does the beeper chirp once when you turn the key on?
