150 crossflow carb kit QUESTIONS

CARBS BUILT 2 YEARS AGO AM GOING TO REBUILD
IS IT NEEDED`TO REMOVE WELCH PLUGS AND IF
ARE THEY HARD TO PUT BACK IN AND ARE THERE
SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED TO PUT BACK IN
ALSO IS THERE A NEED TO REMOVE THEM BEFORE SOAK . IS 24 HOURS GOOD ARE TO LONG
ARE NEW FLOATS NEEDED IF NOT ARE SIERRA GASKETS AND KITS GOOD FOR THE JOB
WILL LINK AND SINK NEED TO BE DONE AFTER REBUILD CHECKED LINKAGE AND TIMING ARE WELL NOW

was whanting to know if sierra kits are good
and if floats needed to be changed or can they be checked and if rebuild willchange link and sink it is good now

Hi Benny.

Having any trouble with the engine that may lead you to think the carbs need rebuilt? I have a 90horse crossflow that I rebuilt the carbs on almost 5 years ago. May do them this year....dunno yet.

Soaking depends on how dirty the carb is. I usually will soak them over night and follow up with canned choke and carb cleaner through the passages and follow up with air.

Always remove the core plugs before soaking. I use a punch of close to the right size to install the new ones. Just tap them in till flat. I coat them with gasket sealing compound after wards.

Always a good idea to make sure the throttle plates are opening at the same time and the cam roller is contacting the cam at the right time. Won't hurt to go through it.
