150 Evin, SS or Alum?

Anybody ever had 155 Evi with a Stainless? Found one on Ebay 14x19 been running a really beat up 14 1/9x19 alum. Which has been pretty good. <br /><br />Just hopping its not to much?

Anita,<br />Stainless will give you better performance. At the top end, aluminum blades tend to flex. Stainless blades will not. As for the slight diameter change...dont worry about it. It wont have any noticable impact.<br /><br />One question for you though, you said you're currently running a pretty beat up prop. How did it get beat up? If you have a tendancy to hit stuff then you might NOT want the stainless. Aluminum has a lot more "give" when something gets struck. Stainless does not. Which could translate into expensive damage to the stainless prop and lower unit.<br /><br />If its simply worn out and you found a great deal on a stainless, by all means go for it.<br />Once you are used to running Stainless, you may never want to go back.<br /><br />Enjoy...<br />Nav

Thanks<br />The beat up one came with the boat, have no idea what its history was. <br />Tons of people go both ways around us with SS or Alum. May just need to trim up a little higher more often. <br />Yes we have the same concern about the debrise in the water. They are not normally fixed objects. Normally untraceable moving targets. logs,branches you name it. <br />Well my X actually took the whole lower unit apart to replace the forward gear, so were past the part of having to pay for those repairs. Just the parts!!
