150 Evinrude NO fire at all ?

79 Hydrasport with Evinrude 150, not sure if original motor? Model # 150949C Friend told me 150 for 150hp,94 was year ,and 9 for 9th month built of that year. Is this true? Anyway
NO fire to plugs
6 coils, one to each plug
2 power packs, each leading to 3 coils
1 timer base and 1 stator
Since none of the plugs fire , I thought Stator
I don't think it's timer base ,due to no fire,not advance
problem.
Tested outlet power of stator 40 volts AC
Tested outlet of power packs no voltage at all?
I don't know how to read ohms on my multimeter
Could both power packs be bad?

The engine is a 1979. If you don't know how to read ohms on your meter I suggest you go see your dealer. I doubt very seriously that both packs are bad. Your test on the stator is invalid, you have to use a DVA to check voltage output.
