150 ficht no start

Got a 99 evinrude ficht that died on me yesterday while on the water. Started losing power like bogging down but idled fine then the check engine buzzer went off and died. Still cranked easy and sounded like compression was good and even tried startin a couple times. After getting back and trying it it sound like the fuel pump is whinning real loud a noise i've never heard and have had this since new. Doesn't appear to be much pressure coming out the test valve anybody got any experience with this. This has been a great motor with all the updates and has about 600hrs on it. Thanks for any info!

fuel pressure should be around 30 psi
if you don't have much fuel coming out of valve suspect fuel supply if its ok (lots of fuel avaiable and filter clean check lift pumpandhigh pressure pump

So make sure i have good flow from the tank (filter is new). Didnt know there were 2 pumps is the lift pump a diaphram style the electric pump on the back is growling bad. Should the valve have 30psi and hold? Thanks!

lift pump is diaphram type(can be overcome by primer bulb)
I can't remember exact spec. on electric pump but its around 30 psi (20-30 should suffice)
I've seen float in vapor seperators stick causing vapor lock problems unfortunatly its not a service part (part of high pressure pump)
If you suspect a high pressure pump problem the only service is to replace it.(there should be lots in the bone yard)

p.s. if pressure is over 30 psi small filter in fuel return line (from injectors) at high pressure pump is plugged.

Sorta suspecting the high pressure pump just from the sound it's making but will check pressure tomorrow. Those assy. are pricey just trying to get a better guess i'm an auto tech not marine tech. Thanks for the help!
