1995 150 Ocean Pro,has ALWAYS started up immediately, especially after it has been running.Carbs rebuilt a couple of years ago.Decarb every other year.recently it takes a lot of cranking to get it started.Someone offered me some starting fluid and it got it fired up immediately in 1 crank and it ran fine and restarted up quickly.Next day same thing.Where to start looking?? NEVER EVER use starter fluid again..spray mixed fuel in there if you need to. check your injector pump..if it is working properly (shooting fuel into intake manifold when you press key in while in the RUN position) if it is not working fix it..if it is working replace your intake manifold gaskets as your old gaskets have swollen and closed fuel passages.

Starting fluid sounds like bad stuff.I guess I can put some fuel in a spray bottle until I can get it looked at.Charlie

Starter spray doesn't have lube in, it's just an explosive solvent so you're running the motor dry. I don't mean to recommend any bandaid fixes but west marine does carry a 2 stroke starting fluid with lube. Still wouldn't feel as safe to me as pre-mix oil/fuel in a spray bottle.

You need 3 things to start up:
compression
fuel
spark

go here:

and do the tests on compression and spark and post back the results. You are missing one of those three things when you first try to start it.
