Hello All,
I was out for a family cruise doing about 25mph and got into some big swells, when i throttled down I noticed my Port(twin engines) had shut down. I saw that the Tach was on 0 and I smelled a burning rubber smell
. I gave it a minute then tried to turn it over but it would not start. I started back towards the dock on my starboard engine and then tried the Port again a few minutes later, it would crank but not stay started. The smoke looked darker than usual but I'm not completely sure, I was a little panicked.
The next day I went down and changed the fuel filter and spark plugs and tried it again but same thing, it would turn over but not stay running. I gave it some throttle in neutral and it started but died out immediately.
Any thoughts before I take it to the shop? I'm afraid to do anything else incase I may be doing any damage.
Thanks,
JPA
