150 psi good 4 a 1972 evinrude?

Hi All,

I have moved on to a 1972 Evinrude. Wanting to make sure I don't have the same issues...is 150 psi good for the 72' Evinrude?

depends on what type of gauge you have and how accurate it is. If its acurate then 150 is a bit on the high side and I would suspect alot of carbon buildup in the cylinders. 150 PSI is about a 10.25:1 compression ratio which is high for 87 octane gas.
