I have a 150hp Merc. The tilt trim motor is square model with 3 wire hookup. When I supply power to it, it runs at high speed with no tilt action and without me pressing the tilt switch. But when I do press the tilt switch it stops, then quickly runs up to high speed again with no action... Thanks for the help..............

A three wire trim pump will have two solenoids. It sounds like one of them is stuck in the energized positionj, or your tilt switch is bad. Fix that first. After you get the switch to run the motor properly, you need to fil and bleed the cylinders and pump. Without knowing the kind of PTT system it is difficult to provide the bleeding procedure.

well i agree with that guy about the selinoid is stuck the reason its not going up could be a o-ring letting air in and its not getting the right pressure be sure to get some trim lube or whatever it is and dont run it much without it or you will tear something up thanks, nick
