Hi,
I have a 2003 model 150hp Optimax manufactured in 2002. The standard plug is a NGK PZR5F-11 running a .40 in. Gap. I purchased some new plugs some time ago for a 2003 model which are IZFR5G.
Looking on the NGK web site these IZFR5G plugs are for 2003-2005 models and run a .31 in. Gap.
Question is can I run this plug in my engine and whats the differnces in the plugs?
Regards Dennis
:)

Re: 150hp Optimax plug sellection

PZR5F-11 changes up to the IZFR5G plugs , so the answer is yes.And the main difference is the pz plug is platinum tip and the iz plug is iridium.Since the beginning of DI engines they like to eat plugs(Fichts as well as Optis)so they keep coming out with more resilient plugs to last longer.

Thanks T_I_M.
One more point is the plug gap. Do I reduce it to .031 from .040 as per the NGK web site.
Regards Dennis

Thanks again T_I_M for the prompt response. I have fitted them now. It seems like the plugs were preset to the correct gap in any case.
Regards Dennis
