15hp 1981 johnson j15ecis. Is it possible to just replaced the shift rod seals in the lower unit without taking the entire lower unit apart? Or should I just do the whole lower unit seal kit. I have seen a special tool used to pull the shift rod, but do not know what it is called. I got my motor running to find it leaking lower unit oil from the shift rod area.
