I am thinking of putting a 15hp on my 12ft aluminum vee. Is this a good idea?

It is kind of old and has no sticker on it. I want it to be kind of like a mini speedboat, but not unsafe.

If it wont be stable enough at full throttle then maybe I should get a 12hp?

Here is a decent pic of the transom

Too much horsepower is never enough! Here's a photo of a 10 footer with a 55. Granted it is a racing boat, but it was designed for class racing with a 25.

I see your transom was reinforced with some plating so it should be able to handle it. The original boat was probably rated for between 7-9.9 HP. If it turns out to be too squirrely at speed, just limit the wide-open throttle.
