16 Foot Holiday,What year first manufactured

I am going to look at a 16 ft Holiday tomorrow,the owner said it has cable steering.Did they come new with it?what year was the first Holiday 16? Thanks Paul

i know the 18 dates back to very early 60s or before and suspect the 16 does too. others more knowledgeable than i (everyone) might chime in.

the cable and sheave system was pretty common on many small boats into the early-mid 60s and still works pretty well if you take the time to set it up and adjust it. or you could replace it with a Uflex rotary system for as little as maybe 120.
