Rebuilding my 2000 smokercraft due to a very leaky hull. Still in the tear down stage. Soon I plan on bucking the rivets, and painting the inside of the hull with gluvit. I'm going to leave the exsisting foam though so I won't be painting under there, at least that's the plan right now.

Welcome to the forum drice. Are you sure the foam is dry? If it was mine, and I had it as far stripped out as you do, I'd remove everything, clean it up real well and Gluvit all the seams and rivets.

Are you sure the leaks aren't under the foam? It would be a real bummer to gluvit the entire hull except those areas and still have a leak.

Welcome to the site, good luck with the project.:)

Turns out the foam was wet! Its probably best to do the job right anyways. I was looking at Lund's website and saw that they inject foam in their boats. Anyone done this before? I'd like to do it in the bow of my boat to make it more rigid.

Very few of us with aluminum hulls are going back with pourable foam.
