Hey guys.... was wondering from the experienced out there. What brand/style/material boat cover is good for a 16" SS. I wanna cover it up good and actually plan on covering with a large tarp in addition to a good cover (if needed?). I just dont wanna break the bank on a decent cover. Plus I wouldnt wanna see all my hard work get eaten by some mice or who knows what  :D

Re: 16' SS Boat cover..?

There are plenty out there UNDER $100

Will it be your travel cover?

Material is based on usage. For example, my Bimini is Sunbrella, my travel cover is also an older Poly with Duck reinforcements.

I am making my own bow and cockpit cover out of Odyssey III which is a lighter version of TOP GUN materials.

I double cover mine also so a cotton/duck should be adequate and is the cheapest.

Get a huge ball of twine for wrapping all the mice entry points for the winter, and they can enter thru the drain hole if uncovered, and the cinch rope is OK, but they can get in.

Try to use no less than 9 oz. if it will be a travel cover that has cotton in its weave makeup, you can go lighter if a Poly/Acryllic

Search the web for:

Sunbrella
TOP GUN
Sharkskin

as examples of fabric for covers, and this site iboats sells them also with good descriptions to assist you.
