what is the reason there are so many foot balls ,,,i thaught that is were there were tree branches in the original wood ,,,and i thaught you were only alowed a small certain of imperfections like footballs per side of sheet...;
If those footballs werent there, there'd be knots in their place. Either way, they're under 3 coats of Epoxy resin and 7.5 ounce mat. That floor will outlast the rest of the boat, I assure you.

Can we keep the thread on topic please? You're welcome to ask questions about my build, but if you want to talk about footballs, make your own thread, please.
Hey Pun NICE Job! I am going to be rebuilding my floor this coming winter. I have an I/O 18.5 runabout. It has a soft spot, and I have been wanting a challenge like this. So when I go and set out for my new floor, I will have something to look back on for education. Nice thread!
Heh, I dont know about that, Teng. A lot of the other projects are much more extensive than mine. I didn't have to rip my boat in two like an oyster or rebuild the transom. I had it easy compared to most of you guys. Nevertheless, thanks for the kind words, my brutha from downunda.
Another major update!

Boat is back from the upholstery shop today. What an amazing job they did. I still have to mount all the hardware and the two lounge seats, along with a bunch of other loose ends, but this thing is gonna hit water SOON!

As usual, some pics:

Thanks guys.

Scuda, total tab on the upholstery, he supplied all materials including carpet, was just about $1000. I think I got a stellar deal. This guy is a good friend of my good friend tho, so I think I got a heavy discount because of that.
