165 mercruiser wot in a 22' reinell cabin cruiser

i have a 22' reinell cabin cruiser it has a 165 mercruiser in it (250 chevy)
what is the right cam for it what would be the right lift duration etc because the problem im having is it seems like i have have it wot to get to a plane and have to keep it at wot by Buddie used a auto cam and it rapped out at 4100rpm
and then thru a rod any help on this would be greatly appreciated

yer 165hp mercruiser L6 has a wot throttle spec of 3900-4300. most likely. why do ya think yer cams wrong? can ya reach wot?
