First outing this year and I was very happy with how she ran, cranked & ran smooth & cool for over an hour.
A couple of things though. A rope fell off so I throttled down so my son could crawl up front to retrieve it when the stern ran aground and stopped the engine. Sudden stoppage after 30 minute cruise. When starting the engine it turned over very slow & I had to crank it & pump the throttle. It cranked after 3 attempts then back to running great. Wondering why it turned over slowly after being stopped so suddenly?
Next the oil pressure reading is “0” at hot idle but 40 at cruise. I don’t hear any bad sounds like bearing clicking or clanking. It sounds normal. This is not a new thing. I had a separate oil pressure line with a direct gauge reading the same. So I’m assuming the pressures low. Are there any oil additives I should use to help with lubrication? Should I plan on finding a rebuilt engine soon? This is my 2 Nd engine.
3 rd thing is that I had at least a couple of gallons of hot clear water inside of the engine well after running an hour. It’s a nuclear lake & the water at one end was very hot too but not the entire lake.
The boat does not have an exhaust bellows on it but was told it was not needed but might be a little louder.

You may have had some water enter the cylinders through the exhaust and hydrolocked.

That's very low...might try some thicker oil, but no magic.

Where is the water? Mixed with the oil or in the bilge?

Water was in the bilge. There was no antifreeze in the water & the engine temperature was perfect the entire time.
