Re: 1702265 horn, under deck 12vdc dream white grill
Its been a while since I've worked at a Bayliner dealership, but I seem to remember that the grill was part of the horn and not available seperately.
When they looked up the part, they should be able to tell you if its the complete horn assembly or just the grill.
Most places don't stock many items for older boats. Most do not stock parts for 2012 boats as far as that goes.
Where I work now, we order parts as needed unless its a fast moving item that is used on many models & years.
Motor parts are a little different as they don't change too much.
We have stuff on the shelves like boat covers that are specific to a model or only fits a year or two.
Guess who's stuck with it unless someone walks in and wants a 1999 Tahoe Q5 cover in red?
We require pre-payment for special order parts as well. Its common in the industry.
We've let it slide a couple of times and have parts that have never been claimed. Most people are good about it,thought.
We've had guys call 9 months later and complain because we sold "their" part after leaving messages etc.
We have pre-paid parts that have been here for months as well. also left messages.
