yes when it runs the fuel is bleeding back down in the tank. if i pump the bulb it kills it. either on the boats tank or a seperate can of gas. so the bulbs not holding/air leaks?

Over-squeezing the primer CAN over-pressure the carb float/needle and flood the motor, killing it. A firm handshake is all that is necessary.

A pin-holed disphragm in the fuel pump will not pump fuel correctly and will flood that cyl operating the fuel pump.

Air leaking into the fuel system anywhere before the pump will cause grief. Temporarily instal a section of clear hose after the pump to watch for 'bubbles'.

Aftermarket primers may not have the flow capacity for high HP WOT operation, the additional $$ for OEM primers are much less than a scorched piston(s). Cheap insurance/peace of mind.

Carbs - Float needles, needle seat gaskets missing or doubled up, float levels incorrect, saturated floats. If the floats/seats/needles are working correctly and your have no other leaks in any of the fuel lines, the floats should seal the lines when the bowls are full and you should not have any bleed down. O.K. maybe after a day or so you'll have some but not right away.

However, the caveat is not having any other leaks. The choke solenoid, if stuck open will allow bleed down, it gets it's fuel supply from the bowl of the top carb set. If it's hung open you'll dry up the top carb bowl and flood 3,4,5 and 6. A flooded 2 stroke will sometimes give you symptoms that would make you think it's not getting fuel.
