175 sportjet 4 beep warning

Hi all,
I'm getting the intermittent 4 beep warning from my sport jet that happen every two minutes. I've read a lot of posts saying it is likely a faulty oil level switch or warning module. But I'm thinking my problem might be a voltage problem. I just noticed that my volt meter is reading 16+ volts which I assume is a faulty regulator. Haven't tested anything yet but wondering if anyone could offer an opinion.

Hi, Boomer.

Moved this into the Merc outboard section because the powerhead is a Merc powerhead attached to a jet drive.

4 beeps is for the oil injection system. Verify your serial number against the cover of this at Boatinfo - http://boatinfo.no/lib/mercury/manuals/175xr_sportjet.html#/120
