The trailer looks to be a Sportsman, from early 70's.

Hull appears to be a Starcraft. The same hull was used by Smoker Craft and later by Sylvan, and some were sold to Blue Fin and Northwoods, who put their name on them.

Starcraft, Sylvan, and Smokercraft are all made by the same company.

IOn the transom, upper right hand corner, there is a metal tag riveted. It has a hull id number on it.
The first 3 letters are the manufacturer's id code.

Are you sure its 18' ??

it is at an auction. the auction ad says it is an 18 ft. i am kinda hoping it is and i can get it pretty cheap

Yup, I concur with Roscoe 100% It sure looks like a "fisherman" hull of Starcraft or sylvan...... I question the length too.

Hmmm. That isnt good. Well I guess its a roll of the dice anyway at auction. I guess Ill take my tape measure..lol There are no real good pics of it. on the website. but i am hoping for 18. We here at work were trying to do some math and figure out how long it was but the angle of the pic has got it all messed up.

Well just got off the phone with the auctioneer. He says all the paperwork he has states 18ft. I am supposed to call tomorrow when he will be on site with a tape measure and he will let me know for sure. *fingers crossed*

I realize there are many many factors but I am just looking for a little of a general guideline.

Looks like a Starcraft or one of its cousins for sure as mentioned above.

I agree that it looks like a 16 footer, based on the amount of freeboard.

That is a well-built hull and it looks like it's in decent shape, so I'd be willing to pay up to around $800 or so for the boat and trailer.

I live in Michigan so our old boats are pretty cheap these days, if you live on the west coast that boat could sell for much higher.

That's assuming it needs some work and does not come with any gas motors.

Good luck to ya, looks like a boat worth restoring to me. These tin cans are pretty easy to work on.

That rig with a 40 would be sweet. That's a great fishing boat whether it's a 16 or 18.
