18 hp evinrude getting gas???

Hey guys, I have the 18 hp Fastwin 1968 model. As long as I pump the bulb she runs good, quit pumping the bulb and it will die in a few seconds. Think it's the fuel pump?? My hose are showing som dry rot also. Haven't done anything to it yet. DO you think I should replace everything just to be safe. RE; fuel pump kit, carb kit, and also the coils?

well the fuel pump, carb kit, hoses with the new alcohol resistant hose, all of them, and the impeller. when were your coils last replaced. if you pull flywheel, may as well do points, condenser, wires also. i would check compression first, before putting a lot of money into it.
