18 HP, Johnson Crankshaft, swap

I have a 1963 johnson that needs a new Crankshaft, and bearings, will a 1958 evinrude crank be a direct swap. ???. The bearing diameteres on the johnson are all 1.000

Go to the BRP web site and look up both engines and check the part numbers.

Hi,

I took your suggestion but when I went to the BRP website but they only had listings dated back to 1968 The motor I have is a 1963, so no way of getting anything out of that site.

A 1957 and 1963 both take the same crank, so I would have to conclude the 1958 does also. The new part number is 315286.
