Title is very easy to get in FL, register as home made vessel.

Steering cable is snugg but fits like a glove. 18ft cable was just barely enough.
Console is just wide enough, I picked a 15" steering wheel but I may end up with a 13"

Paint job on motor is done! Did it my self with automotive enamel with Harbor freight paint guns.
Sooo Clean!!

Captain D101,

VERY impressive job! I am lightly thinking of doing almost the same job as you, stripping, sanding, changing the flooring (wood to aluminum)...your work and pictures have inspired me. The ONLY thing I'm gonna NOT do it install carpet. Being in Louisiana, where it's always either wet or damp, carpet is not in the future for my boat. This is the product I'm going with, wish I'd have gotten you this link BEFORE you installed your carpet, it might have changed your mind about it. BFC Marine Inc - Hydroturf Again, VERY impressive job!:first

I would have done better materials for the deck but she just wasnt worthy of that kind of money. The 4 sheets of 3/4 plywood was throw away from a local church( indoors use) free upon removal. The Carpet was from clearing out of a neighbors old materials and junk( little dusty but cleaned up nicely.) Spend as little as possible. I don't like to B.O.A.T....
Boat purchase and Rustoleum marine paint. 200
Johnson 40 w/controls and rebuild/ paint. 500
Trailer and paint. 300
Decking/ Steering/ Transom/ Hardware. 400
Experience. Priceless......

Finished the project. I will post pictures tonight. Looks great and water tested pretty good. need to tune carbs a bit. Typical Johnson of these older motors, they dont like to idle. With throttle she was running smooth.
Older plug hole and doesn't work well with my plugs, needs a little mod and will be good to go.
