After running my motor for about 5 minutes, I checked the compression. The top cylinder is reading around 130 and the bottom near 150.
After letting the motor sit a while, compression on both cylinders is near 150.
Obviously, operating temperature has an affect on the compression on the top cylinder.
I attempted to remove the cylinder block cover so i could inspect the cylinder's/pistons, but the cover wouldn't budge. I tried jarring it loose by placing a block of wood on the side and hitting the block of wood with a hammer. I was pretty liberal on the swing. I also tried to wedge a small flat head screw driver between the block and the cover. I didn't want to damage anything so I didn't put much force in that attempt.
What is the best method to remove the cylinder block cover? Will heating it up cause damage.
