19 or 17 pitch

1977 17 foot ranger bassboat 115 johnson running a 13x19 runs 5000 rpm 42 mph can only trim up a little rpm 5500 43mph getting lot of slip there would a 14x17 help any

5500-5700 Rpms is where you want to be at WOT...... If you drop to a 17 pitch you will probably be there but it sounds as if you are doing good now. You might save some money and make sure the motor is set at the proper height. Have you tried any height adjustments? Try to go up one hole on the mounting.
