I just purchased a 1945 duratech model V12, serial #16113. How or where can I find the specs for this boat? There is also another plate above that one with a series of letters and numbers PAZ730481345. I would appreciate any assistance.

Pictures are the best way to get others with knowledge to share what they know. Sounds like a nice find for sure.

Welcome, Tony. The PAZ start in the HIN means you have a state (PA) issued HIN for a homemade (Z) boat. So PA assigned the HIN.

Is the boat glass or aluminum? Look here. Duratech - Classic Boat Library

Pics help a lot.

Thank you GA_Boater for the website. However, if I'm looking at it correctly and with my glasses on, I don't see anything prior to 1954.

Re: 1945 dratech v-hull help

I think you are using the 45 at the end of the HIN to say you have a 1945. While that is true for a manufacturer assigned HIN, it is not true for a state assigned number. Nice looking tin boat, Tony.

Re: 1945 dratech v-hull help

The library link that GA provided shows a model V-12 for years 54 and 55.

The company was founded in 50 as loose rivet linked. So you have a 50 to a 55.

Looks like Duratech built one tough tinny. The ribs look industrial.

Max 10 Hp according to the specs.

There's some good stuff HERE too. I'm actually guessing your boat to be more in the vintage of the early 60's - I say guessing because I'm basing that on some of the images of the 50's models and some of the fittings on your boat vs. fittings on a couple of old 50's jobs that I've had. YMMV :D

Nice boat - as much as I like my bow rider, those open outboard types are hard to beat.

Re: 1945 dratech v-hull help

Thanks everyone for the assistance and compliments. I did notice the production years from that site and that had me scratching my head.... I was thinking someone transposed the year incorrectly. She appears to be pretty sturdy and just needs a good bath....so off to the lake she'll go this weekend.
