Purchased an old motor which is silver and baby blue top. Checked out pictures and narrowed down to a Scott. Sent out emails and they told me Firestone -made by Scott. My problem is the baby blue paint. I can't find this anywhere except the early Firestones were licensed through Champion.
So I have no serial, but the side covers have a part # and it starts with 465.
46 is supposed to denote 1946 and the 3rd digit should be a 3 or 7.
It was my understanding they didn't make the 7.5 till 1947 which should have a recoil.
Mine has a rope start and blue paint underneath 75 years of rust.
Has anybody ever heard of a 5hp Scott? It is 2 cyl btw.
