1949-1953 merc oltboard

I have a older 10 or 15 hp merc outboard
its silver with green hood
if hood is off you cant start motor
my research its some were between
1949 and 1953
it does have a tag just have to check

found out its 1955
6.9 hp
anyone know what going for or want it

Condition is everything on those old Mercs. No such animal as a 6.9hp - did you mean 5.9? That would make it a first year Mark 6. Nice enough motors, good power for their size. Weak spot was the gearfoot. I paid $60 for mine, complete, nearly running condition.
