The fuel oil mix on this thing is a half pint to 1 gallon and boy does she smoke!!! lots of oil in the water too...<br /> I'm environmental concious but would really love to run this engine does anyone know if I can replace the fossil oil for veggie oil. would it work?<br /> Any help would be appreciated!!

Howdy, REW.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. :) <br /><br />No, no, no. You must use 2 stroke oil.<br /><br />If it is air cooled, which I suspect with the 16:1 mix, use chainsaw or weedwhacker oil only. No outboard oil.<br /><br />I used to use castor oil in racing kart engines back in the 50s, but you don't know what stink and goo are 'til you have used that stuff.<br /><br />On the long shot chance that it is water cooled, use TC-W3 certified outboard oil.<br /><br />Please always tell us everything about your engine: make, model, hp, when posting an engine related question.<br /><br />Good luck. :)
