Well I made all the mistakes you guys will say not to do. Anyway I have a 11' 4" row boat, can anyone help identify it. I have looked at thousands of pictures for the past several weeks now, and can find many that are close but nothing that look exactly like this one.

level view of the port side.

I have visited two different BMV branches the first one was busy and gave me the impression I was bothering them. The second one close to my work, and they know me, spent 45 minutes with me, a worker and than with the supervisor. they tried looking up the DNR IN number, the TAX tag number from 1998, the inscribed Serial number. I had a old title from the alleged original trailer, that the owner said was the boat,..not... they tried looking up the original owner and ANY boats in that name.

The 45 minute BMV session ended like this. Get the current owner to fill out this affidavit,. Since there is currently NO propulsion on it lets get this paper completed by the current owner that is selling it to you, this will allow you to register it in your name.

(Wink Wink) IF YOU decide to add a motor electric or small out board later THAN you can apply for a HID from the state.

SO here is the catch 22 we HAVE to have the:
1.) Year
2.) Make
3.) Model
to complete the affidavit.
HELP??

Thank you guys for all and any help.

Back in the day there was not set method to measure length. Quite often length was measured from the corner bracket along the gunwale to the bow. That could make this a 12' hull (nominal). Sure looks like a 1955 Lone Star Pirate with a 12' length and a 45" width.

If it doesn't have any foam in it it could be a 1961 Texasmaid John - 12 with a 44" width.

You could also try to remove the top layer(s) of paint near the stern to see if there is any markings which might actually identify the manufacturer.

I received my bow number, the title and registration along with the paid tax stickers are in the mail on their way to me. As soon as the kid puts the title in his name, and gets the hard copy he can than "sell" it to me. He had the trailer since 2003 but never put the title in his name.

Couple more weeks and I will be legal.

I want to remove those seat bases, and the plywood they used for spacers, worried about corrosion, so will need to get some of those blind rivets I see you all talking about.

Than replace the removed benches front and back, and work out a way to mount the two seats to the benches.

Thanks guys!

After reading above I think it might legally be Texas Lone Star Pirate Jon.

Whatever it is it'll be a good little tinny. How are those seats mounted?

The trailer title what a major head ache,...R U N F O R E S T R U N !!
Additional conversations with PO and it was really going NO WHERE. He continued to SWEAR that a 1950 TR title was the boat, and his 1975 TR Bill of sale and title was good,...NOT
Finally BMV headed me in right direction had previous dealer help me obtain POA from previous Owner. Place new dup title in joint names, (for a fee) and once arrived trip back to BMV and sell it to myself.

This all started on August 1, 2015 with PO swearing he had titles for hull and TR

So Oct 2nd I have boat done, trailer in my name with temp plate, and waiting for real plate and registration to arrive in the mail.

2 months from hell with trips everywhere for this scavenger hunt.

Now for some fishing time before ICE hits NW Indiana
