1953-53 fastwin 15 question

i am new to this here and i need some advice from you experts. i have a 53-54 fastwin 15 that has the pressure tank system. my tank is no good but i have all the parts. now i know that the motor injects air in to the tank to pressurize it to about 2-3 psi i believe. can i block off the air port and use a automotive fuel pump in the 2-3 psi range hooked up to an on-off switch and use a plastic tank to draw from is there anything else i might have to do. in theory i think will work but i am not an expert nor have i messed with boat motors alot. any info reguarding this will be helpfull

There are a ton of posts and info here on converting it to single line tanks. It isn't too hard. Use the search function. It may even be in the Top Secret Information at the top.
