1953-54 tune up kit??

Hello I have a 1953-54 Evinrude big twin 25 hp (25012) that I am trying to fix up. I have found the coils here on iboats but can only find a tune up kit (condenser and points) for a 1955 not for a 1953-54? Can anyone help out with part numbers or advise on where to get them?? Also would like to convert this to an electric start if anyone has advise there. I think i only need the flywheel and starter bracket but don't know where to find them. Do they make a kit? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the iboats forum.

I'm pretty sure the tune up kits are the same. Usually I just file the points down and re use em. It always works. The 25012 is a '53 model. If you send me a PM (private message) with your email address and request I have the parts manual for the 25012 I can email you. (it will have all the parts #'s you need)

As for the electric start, you need the flywheel ring with teeth, starter, mount, electric choke , solenoid and all wires. Usually best to get em off a parts engine.
